Pantelleria is called “Figlia del vento”, it is 67 km from the Tunisian coast and 85 from the Sicilian coast. It does not belong to any archipelago and is the largest among the “satellite islands” of Sicily with an area of 83 sq. It is an island of volcanic origin and although the last eruption dates back to 1891 and is now an extinct volcano, its geological life is still active with very present secondary volcanic phenomena, which contribute to characterize it and make it unique.
