The Saline della Laguna have always been a strategic location since Phoenician times. For this reason, when it was the turn of Spanish rule, mills were built to pump water and grind salt.
Today, this extraordinary landscape in Marsala, gives us sunsets of unique beauty, which have crowned it as the most evocative place in Italy that is dedicated to eco-sustainable food production.
The place also represents the Stagnone Nature Reserve, which is very important and where this condition, combined with the water temperatures, has produced a massive presence of marine fauna.
The obvious consequence of the important presence of bream, octopus, bream and shellfish has meant that many migratory birds have chosen this out-of-time place to return to nest.
Herons, pink flamingos and ducks make the panorama what in everyone’s eyes is now defined as an earthly paradise.
