Marzamemi is a charming seaside village located in the province of Syracuse. This ancient fishing village, located along the south-east coast of the island, is known for its picturesque beauty and rich historical heritage.

Characterised by a charming little harbour, it is surrounded by old fishermen’s houses, small fish restaurants and craft shops. The centre of the village is dominated by the Tonnara di Marzamemi, dating back to the 12th century, the heart of the tuna fishing industry, and today, after being renovated, hosts cultural events and exhibitions.

Exploring the narrow streets of Marzamemi is like diving into the past. Traditional architecture, colourful façades and courtyards adorned with flowers give the village an authentic and enchanting atmosphere. You can stroll along the cobbled streets, admire the charming façades and visit the small 16th century church of San Francesco di Paola.

Marzamemi is also famous for its enchanting beaches and crystal-clear sea such as San Lorenzo Beach and Tonnara Beach, where you can relax, sunbathe and bathe in the clear waters.

Marzamemi village is a place where the culinary tradition is highly appreciated. Local restaurants offer a variety of fresh fish dishes, such as spaghetti with sea urchins, pasta with sardines and swordfish rolls. In addition, Marzamemi is famous for its production of canned tuna and typical sweets such as cannoli and Sicilian cassata.
