The Labirinto di Arianna by Italo Lanfredini, built in 1990, is part of the works in the open-air museum “Fiumara d’Arte“.
The path of the labyrinth is an archetype, a symbol of a physical path, but also an inner one. The work relates to the past and to classical culture.
Entering the labyrinth means starting to ask questions about one’s own existence; it invites one to question oneself and reflect on a journey that is not on earth, but under the sky. The path is accessed through a natural opening, the same one from which one then exits, symbolising how man has entered and exited over time.
