I Vigneri: history and tradition of Etna wine

The discovery of the “Maestranza de I Vigneri” [The Winegrowers Giuld] founded in 1435 and whose know-how was focused on manual work.
A journey in the history of Etna wines in the most ancient winery of this volcano.

Those who wanted to be a winemaker became landscape artists who had to deal with the highest volcano in Europe and its volcanic eruptions whose destructive force is a generator of soil fertility for their crops.

The respect for the territory and people creates a “Human” environment.

The experience includes:

• Visit of the Vineyard; the ancient Palmento still in use; the Cellar and the Barrel room built with lava stone and terracotta bricks handmade locally.
• Wine tasting of 3 wines: 2 white wines (Superiore dell’Etna, and Superiore DOC); 1 Traditional Red Wine of Mt. Etna (Winemaking is carried out in the Palmento)
