Etna boasts a vast trail. Deciding which are the best areas for a bike excursion on the volcano is not always easy.
Our guided bike tours are designed to meet any need and expectation. From the most demanding itineraries of the whole day, the high mountain track of Etna to the simplest e-bike excursions,
you can choose the best activity for you.
You will be assisted by one of our companions who will make you enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the Etna park around the largest active volcano in Europe.
You can admire the lava flows that have threatened entire countries or visit the side cratersfrom which historical eruptions started.
And yet a visit to spectacular and unique places in continental Europe such as volcanic caves. For groups there is also the possibility of organizing refreshment stops organized at the lava rock
shelters of Etna.
The path winds in a ring partially on the path of the Etna Altomontana track, in an anti-clockwise direction, starting from the Ragabo pine forest, a very luxuriant spontaneous forest of larch pines.
By following recent (2002) and ancient lava flows you will reach the Dammusi pass, a spectacular and vast expanse of lava.
We will pay a visit to the famous cave of raspberries and from there we will close a ring continuing towards the Timparossa beech forest in a fun descent into the woods.
Medium difficulty route in MtB – Medium / easy in E-Bike. Altitude 1400/1800 m. 20 Km approximately.
Itinerary that develops on a ring that runs along the Altomontana slope, in a clockwise direction, departing from the south side in the area of the Demanio Forestale Filiciusa Milia, not far therefore from the famous Rifugio Sapienza. The route is landscape-wide.
The view in fact ranges from the neighboring lava flows that line the road in beaten volcanic soil, to the summit craters upstream and the valleys of the Etna countries, as well as to the center of Sicily.
A ring will close by passing through 2 very characteristic forest shelters, the Galvarina and Poggio La Caccia.
Medium difficulty route in MtB – Medium / easy in E-Bike. Altitude 1700/2000 m. 20 Km approximately.
The route is partially structured on the previous itinerary, but in this case it will continue further west, therefore in the less touristy area of the volcano.
Of particular interest is the road in volcanic soil which passes through barren-looking areas dominated by dozens of volcanic cones, some of which can be easily reached with short stops on foot.
Difficult route in MtB – Medium difficulty in E-Bike. Altitude 1500/2000 m. 35/40 Km approximately. About 7 hours in total. Stops included. Packed lunch for the participants.
This itinerary is the most complete for passionate (and well-trained) cyclists who want to visit Etna in all its aspects.
The route will allow you to travel the approximately 40 km of forest ring called Pista Altomontana Etna. A dirt road built for maintenance and forest control purposes, now also used for hiking and particularly suitable for riding a mountain bike.
This route will alternate a variety of breathtaking landscapes on the 4 sides of the volcano, then craters, lava flows, caves, lava stone refuges and much more …
Our organization will take care of all the logistical aspects, for the transfer of the bikes and return to the base, as in reality the track covers a semi-circle and therefore a shuttle service is needed to return to the starting point.
