Cantine Privitera Claimed

Privitera winery was founded by Alfio Privitera when in 1929 he planted the first vineyards in Zafferana Etnea, a small village on the eastern slope of Etna.

Between 1960s and 1970s his son Giuseppe decided to expand the vineyards in Mazzarino, Riesi and Butera areas to diversify its production.

At the same time, Giuseppe moved the company headquarters from the Zafferana Etnea area to Gravina di Catania for greater proximity to the city of Catania.

Today, Privitera winery with its third generation represented by Alfio and Sandra produces good quality wines, following the best winemaking techniques still linked to the tradition and ancient flavours.
