In Taormina, a few hundred meters from Porta Messina is the entrance to the Belvedere Staircase.
From via Pirandello, passing the bus terminal and at the intersection with via Guardiola Vecchia, there is the end (or the beginning) of a climb of about 300 steps that certainly offer one of the most beautiful views you can encounter in Sicily.
We then start from this square which represents a small “belvedere” from which to enjoy the view even of Calabria, to begin a long descent to the state road 114. A small fountain is located in a clearing right on the state road and we point it out precisely because, during this itinerary of about 30 minutes, this stage is perfect for fighting fatigue.
Down below you can visit both Isola Bella and Mazzarò.
